They are a simple, silent reminder. Forty white
wooden
crosses symbolizing the 40 infants that die
each day from
abortion in Broward County are now
available from Broward County
Right to Life for local display.
Each three foot-tall cross bears an epitaph mourning the loss of an aborted child. The epitaphs come from the National Memorial to the Unborn in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which is located at the site of a former abortion facility where some 35,000 children died.

Now forty a day: This cross display represents the number of children lost to abortion each day in Broward County. The number of deaths rose from 39 to 40 in 2003.
Epitaphs
Epitaphs used in the local cross memorial carry words of remembrance from mothers, fathers, and others, such as “Forever In Our Hearts,” and “I’m Sorry I Didn’t Know.” A large sign that comes with the crosses urges onlookers to “Remember the Unborn.”
“The crosses are a sad and personal reminder of the tragic reality of abortion in Broward County,” said Tewannah Aman, executive director of Broward Right to Life.
“It’s a horrible fact that we want to ignore. But we can’t. Abortion takes the life of 40 innocent unborn human beings every day, on average, in Broward. We hope this display will not only remind people of that gruesome reality, but prompt Christians to pray and work to restore legal protection to unborn children and to make ours a culture of life.”
There were 14,636 abortions in Broward in 2003, according to the Florida Department of Health.
There are at least ten abortion facilities in Broward County.
Moving Display
The crosses are a moving display intended for temporary installation outside local churches that wish to join in remembering unborn children lost to abortion in Broward. If you would like to have the cross display come to your church for a two to four week display, please contact Broward Right to Life at (954) 563-LIFE (5433).
