Ads Warn About Abortion Harm
New ads placed near three abortion clinics give abortion-minded women one more piece of information to dissuade them from ending their baby’s life.” Abortion Hurts Women” is the simple message we have strategically placed on four bus benches near three Broward abortion centers.
It’s a much-needed warning. We pray that these messages, which include a toll-free pro-life help line, will alert women contemplating abortion to stop and think about the consequences before it’s too late. When a woman enters an abortion clinic, she is often given little information about the physical and psychological consequences of abortion.
Many claim that there is no such thing as post-abortion syndrome, and that abortion is safer than childbirth. We know that’s not true. Countless women have come forward to share how abortion has dramatically and negatively altered their lives.
Abortion effects researcher David Reardon cites studies showing that eight weeks after their abortion some 55 percent of women questioned expressed feelings of guilt. Another 44 percent experienced nervous disorders, 36 percent had trouble sleeping, and 31 percent were experiencing regret.
Abortion’s impact was powerfully illustrated several years ago in Broward when a Plantation policewoman, reportedly distraught over her abortion, killed her boyfriend and then herself. She asked a friend of her boyfriend, “Did he tell you about killing my baby,” shortly before she took the life of her boyfriend and herself.
Our prayer is that women who see the bench ads will be prompted to call the toll-free help number or go to our website for more information. We also want to give hope to those individuals who have had an abortion.
Abortion Hurts Women – that’s the truth. The more that message is repeated, the less we’ll find women walking through those clinic doors. Thank you for your gifts which help us spread this life-saving message in our community.
